Mambo Coffee Roasters Barista Training: Learn Real Coffee Skills With Industry-Respected Certification

At Mambo Coffee Roasters, we believe barista training should be practical, professional, and accessible. Based in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast, our training programs are designed for anyone who wants to improve their coffee skills—whether you're seeking work in a café, and looking to confidently operate commercial equipment.

We offer structured courses for four key groups:
- Individuals with specific learning needs require one-on-one support. We are a proud training provider for STEPS on the Sunshine Coast.
- Group participants who want hands-on skill-building
- Home espresso machine users
- Jobseekers preparing for work in hospitality

All our training sessions are delivered by experienced trainer who has been training young baristas since 2010. Participants always receive a printed certificate of completion at the end of every session.

Barista Training for Groups

Our group barista training courses are ideal for learners who thrive in a practical, collaborative setting. These sessions cover:
- Espresso machine operation
- Dialling in the grinder
- Milk texturing for lattes and cappuccinos
- Daily machine cleaning and maintenance
- Workflow and timing in a café setting

Classes are capped to ensure every participant has enough time on the machine. We use commercial equipment like La Marzocco, San Remo, and Mazzer grinders. Each class includes freshly roasted Mambo Coffee beans and all training materials.

Participants gain core coffee-making skills and the confidence to apply them in a café or commercial environment.

One-on-One Barista Training

We also offer private, one-on-one barista training for individuals who want to learn at their own pace or focus on specific goals. This is especially helpful for people who are:
- Preparing for a job interview in a café
- Re-entering the hospitality workforce
- Managing their own mobile coffee setup

Private training sessions allow for a more tailored experience. You can choose to focus on espresso extraction, milk texturing, drink building, machine cleaning, or customer service practice. These sessions also allow us to work on your home or mobile setup if needed.

Barista Training on Your Home Espresso Machine

Many of our clients own home espresso machines but don’t know how to get café-quality results from them. Our Home Espresso Machine Training is designed for Breville, Sunbeam, DeLonghi, and similar domestic setups.

These sessions cover:
- Equipment overview and setup
- How to grind fresh coffee beans
- Extraction timing and taste adjustment
- Milk steaming techniques for flat whites, lattes, and cappuccinos
- Regular cleaning routines to maintain machine performance

We train you on your own machine so you can replicate results daily at home.

Training for Jobseekers

Mambo Coffee Roasters provides barista training for people who are actively looking for work. Our short courses give jobseekers real skills in a short time, including:
- Coffee making with commercial equipment
- Workplace hygiene and machine cleaning
- Recognising common café workflows
- Handling peak periods
- Customer interaction basics

All jobseekers receive a certificate of completion they can include in their CV or show potential employers. We also provide advice on what employers look for in new hires and how to improve your employability with practical barista skills.
