Discovering the Joy of Third Wave Coffee

Third wave coffee has been a revolution to the coffee world over the past twenty years. It’s about appreciating coffee as a culinary experience, where flavour, technique and origin matter. Do you also enjoy slow food, good wine and storytelling? At MamboCoffee Roasters, Rick and Jacque Caspersen have travelled the world and understand the quiet joy of dining on excellent cuisine with exquisite company in exotic destinations. They enjoy small intimate gatherings of like minded people who enjoy the finer things in life.  For this end they offer personalised lessons that are tailored to your specific machine to help you elevate your daily coffee ritual, at a time that suits you.

The Machines That Make the Magic

The Breville Barista Express (BES870BSS). It’s a fabulous entry point. With its built-in grinder and intuitive interface, it begins your journey with a simplified process of making espresso. Next, Breville’s The Oracle Coffee Machine uses an intuitive LCD display, and a triple heat system to achieve a better espresso extraction and micro-foam milk. It has an intuitive LCD display, making it easy for you to configure its settings to suit your needs.

Upwards and onwards to the Breville Dual Boiler (BES920BSS) – a serious step-up for anyone wanting to craft perfect shots while simultaneously steaming milk with café-level pressure.

This machine allows you to master the delicate balance between extraction and milk texture. The PID-controlled dual boiler system that gives precise temperature control, while the separate steam boiler offers powerful, consistent steam on demand. It is has been a game changer for home baristas. It will extract beautiful coffee and produce that gorgeous microfoam required for proper latte art.

"I called Rick because I had bought my shiny new Breville Impressa coffee machine, but I didn't have the skills to make a decent coffee. Rick and his dynamic wife Jackie welcomed me into their shop. Rick knows ALL about my coffee machine and taught me step by step how to make adjustments to the grind, amount of water, temperature and what needs to be warm and what doesn't. All presented with a generous serve of very entertaining dry humour. Unfortunately, the Sunshine Coast doesn't have a Breville ambassador so we're very fortunate to have Rick and Jackie from Mambo Coffee Roasters." A. Dunlop Google Review 2025
